ACCESSIBILITY

Everyone should be able to use the portal with ease

This page explains what we do for users with different devices, languages and needs, and what we are still working on.

Last reviewed: 03.11.2026

  • Our target is WCAG 2.2 AAWe use level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as our reference.
  • Keyboard useForms, menus and upload fields can be reached without a mouse, and focus is always visible.
  • Screen reader supportFields are labelled, and errors and save states are announced to screen readers.
  • Languages and directionThe page language is declared correctly, and languages such as Arabic and Persian display right to left.

01Conformance status

The portal targets WCAG 2.2 level AA and partially conforms to it. Checks carried out so far:

  • Key pages were scanned with an automated accessibility tool (axe).
  • Horizontal overflow on narrow screens and the right-to-left layout are checked by automated tests.
  • An independent expert audit and testing with real users have not been carried out yet; they should be planned before launch.

02What we have done

  • Clear form errorsErrors are shown with an icon and text as well as colour, and are linked to the field.
  • Colour and contrastStatus never relies on colour alone, and text and background contrast was chosen to meet level AA.
  • Reduced motionAnimations turn off if reduced motion is enabled on your device.
  • Zoom and narrow screensPages reflow to a single column on phones, and zooming is not blocked.
  • Upload without draggingEvery upload field also works with a file picker, and accepted types and sizes are shown in advance.
  • Forms that do not rush youYour work saves automatically and is not lost if you change the language or take a break.

03Keyboard shortcuts

You can use the portal with the keys below. A hidden “Skip to content” link at the top of each page appears on the first Tab press.

04Known limitations

Issues we are working on:

  • Standards book and guide PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Write to us if you need another format.
  • The interface is currently available in Turkish and English; other languages open once their translations are complete.
  • The accessibility of documents uploaded by organisations depends on how they prepared them.

05Have you run into a barrier?

If any part of the portal is hard to use, let us know. Telling us the page, your device and any assistive technology you use helps us fix it.
